DESHAUN WINS, IT'S CRICKETS.

All Quiet In Cleveland

When Todd Monken announced to the world that Deshaun Watson would be starting for the Cleveland Browns, the whole world went into disarray. Monken announced Watson as the starter on August 24, saying he felt Watson gave Cleveland the best chance to move the ball and score points.

You gotta think, Deshaun Watson ain’t even play a game for almost 2 years. Watson’s first game back came after 693 days away from his last start. He had missed all of the 2025 season while recovering from a twice-torn Achilles.

The games he did play he didn’t play too good. In his first 19 regular-season games with Cleveland, Watson threw for 3,365 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

He wasn’t terrible but coming off those Houston seasons, the fanbase clearly wanted more. In 2020 with Houston, Watson threw for 4,823 yards, 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Couple that with the Shedeur Sanders presence, the fans stating public hate for him and the media jumping on him for his reaction to being booed and his comments about being booed and the browns look like they would brown once again.

I for one wasn’t totally surprised bout the decision but I did think that maybe this was a rhythm situation where when healthy he would figure his way out.

Well through 3 games, the Cleveland Browns sit at 2-1 and although it hasn’t looked pretty, he has managed and played the game the right way. Through three games, Watson has thrown for 587 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception, and Cleveland has won two straight after opening the season with a 34-10 loss to Jacksonville.

You gotta imagine it can’t be an easy job sitting in his position. Cleveland historically hasn’t been great but those fans are a sight to see. The fans who absolutely haven’t had anything to be proud of in the last 5 years.

After showing some promise under Kevan Stefanski (now in Atlanta) and obviously having amazing players such as Denzel Ward and Myles Garrett (now in LA) AND a not so long ago playoff appearance, these fans just keep showing up. Kevin Stefanski is now the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, while Myles Garrett was traded from Cleveland to the Los Angeles Rams in June 2026. Garrett was coming off a 23-sack season in 2025, setting a new NFL single-season sack record.

In the first game of the season, a loss, everybody in the world was calling for Deshaun to get outta that damn position. Watson finished that game 16-of-22 for 205 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, while the Browns lost 34-10 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Todd Monken came out publicly and said Deshaun would still be the started. Monken said, “I anticipate Deshaun will be our starter,” and pointed to some really good things on film despite the loss.

I then questioned the decision but after seeing the footage, it was a ton of things that Deshaun didn’t do but kinda got blamed for.

Well, now the Browns are sitting at 2-1 after beating the hot shot Panthers and the general rapport around the internet is….. CRICKETS. The Browns beat Carolina 21-18, with Watson completing 16-of-30 passes for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. His second touchdown was a 14-yard pass to Harold Fannin Jr. that put Cleveland ahead late in the fourth quarter.

That’s right. I don’t remember ANYBODY in the media really rooting for this Browns team or Deshaun Watson.

It’s not crickets here though. As far as I’m concerned, Deshaun is one of the guys I’m going to root for. I’ve always loved Deshaun Watson and I believe he still can be a winner in the NFL. I don’t even think about anything off the field when it comes to him, this is strictly football.

Either way, it’s CRICKETS.

How to watch Sunday NFL Football, Worry Free

I'm a New Orleans Saints fan living in Atlanta Falcons territory, so gamedays used to be aggravating. I did not understand the difference between local and national broadcasts, and that made finding the game harder than it needed to be.

I understand it now.

That is why I put together this one-page streaming guide flow chart. It is built to help the casual fan figure out where the game lives before kickoff, whether that means local TV, a streaming app, Sunday Ticket, NFL+, or the bar.

I hope this helps on your quest to watch football on Sunday, worry-free.
